Introduction to antimicrobial prescribing

This course focuses on and provides an opportunity to reinforce your knowledge of appropriate antimicrobial prescribing. You will treat Mrs Clark, a 60-year-old retired teacher, who has been referred to the emergency department by her GP with fever, generalized myalgia, left loin pain and irritative lower urinary tract symptoms.

Bacteraemia

Diagnose and treat a case of Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia.

Catheter-associated urinary tract infections

In this course you will treat a hospitalised patient for a catheter-associated urinary tract infection.

Community-acquired pneumonia

In this course you will treat a case of pneumonia in a hospital setting.

Surgical antibiotic prophylaxis

In this course you will examine the role of antibiotic prophylaxis for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
