UTAS taking ownership of National Prescribing Curriculum

The University of Tasmania (UTAS) has taken ownership and management of the National Prescribing Curriculum (NPC) after winning the contract. The new address will be https://learn.prescribing.edu.au.

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) has been the temporary custodian of the NPC during this tender process.

What has changed
NPC training has been transferred from learn.nps.org.au to UTAS. The Commission has transferred certain personal information to UTAS as the new providers of the NPC training.

The personal information is required for UTAS to create an account and enable you to participate in NPC training. Please read below “Information transferred”.

What you need to do
You have the right to withdraw your consent for the transfer of your personal information at any time before 14 August by emailing ACSQHCLearning@safetyandquality.gov.au to advise that you withdraw your consent.

By not providing your personal information to UTAS, you acknowledge that you will not have your existing participation and completion information on the NPC website .

If you do not email us to withdraw your consent, you are confirming that you have read and understood this notice and agree to the transfer of your personal information as described.

You also acknowledge that the Commission and UTAS will process your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (the Act) and respective privacy policies.

Information transferred
Personal information that may be transferred includes – but is not limited to – your title, first name, surname, email, country, suburb, state, postcode, profession, profession speciality, student ID, cohort, AHPRA number (if applicable), participation, interaction, and completion data.

The Commission will not transfer your password. You will need to set up a new password on the UTAS website.

The Commission and UTAS treat all personal information in accordance with the Act and the Commission's Privacy Policy.

UTAS may engage third-party service providers or partners who will process the personal information on their behalf. Such third-party recipients will be required to provide an adequate level of protection and adhere to the Act in their treatment of your personal information.

Your current certificate of completion
Following this change, you will continue to have access to your certificate of completion on learn.nps.org.au. You will also be able to see your certificate of completion at https://learn.prescribing.edu.au.

Your data on learn.nps.org.au
Your data will not be wiped from the learn.nps.org.au website. After the transition to UTAS, you will continue to be able to access your account on learn.nps.org.au.
