Module 3: Patient Identification and medicines taken prior to admission

Upon completion of this module the learner will be able to:

• Correctly document all information required for patient identification
• Correctly document  information on the patient’s allergies and adverse drug reactions
• Correctly document information about medicines taken prior to presentation to hospital
• Understand the importance of a complete and accurate list of drugs and how this can influence ongoing care

Module 4: Regular Medications

Module 5: VTE Prophylaxis

• Correctly document contraindication for VTE prophylaxis
• Change an order for VTE prophylaxis

Module 6: As Required “PRN” Medications

Module 7: Other Medication Orders

Upon completion of this module the learner will be able to:

• Correctly document all information required for once only, pre-medication & nurse initiated medicines
• Correctly document all information required for telephone orders

Module 8: Paediatric NIMC – special features

Upon completion of this module the learner will be able to:

• Identify the paediatric chart
• Identify the special features of the paediatric medication chart
• Correctly document specialised information required for medication management for paediatric  patients
